Welcome to the Murder Mystery sign-up form

2nd annual Murder Mystery Luncheon Event
Once Upon a Murder

In a land not too far away (maybe even closer that you think) a group of somewhat familiar characters gather to solve a mystery.  The leader of the group, Jack Hill, noted mountain climber and carrier of pails has been murdered...drowned in a pail of water.  Pinned to his body is a frightening note.  His friends include Beau (the girl who loves her pet sheep), Scarlett (who wears a red hood and brings snacks in a basket), Cindy (who must be home by 12:00), Jill (his pail carrying companion), Miss Muffy Moffett (who loves cottage cheese), Ryan Arachnid (spider specialist) Thomas Wolfe, (the newcomer) and John Horner (the shy pie-lover).

These friends must solve the mystery quickly before another of their company falls out.  They all know the old song "so they all rolled over and one fell out...there were 8 in the bed and the little one said..."

And come see our Con Chair Mark Offenburger as the victim Jack Hill! No whipped cream pies please (Marcon can’t afford the laundry bill – sorry!).

At the 2nd annual Marcon Murder Mystery Luncheon, participants will play characters in a murder mystery.  Each participant will be given clues which will provide all the information required to unlock the mystery. No acting experience of any kind is required, just a willingness to have fun.  There are a limited number of slots, so sign up right away (see sign up below).  Participants will be charged a fee of $10.00 which will, in part, cover an exclusive lunch during the event (Participants are not required to pay the $10.00 fee when submitting sign-up info.  Once said info is processed, you will be contacted with further details, including payment options and what character you will be playing).  Costumes are encouraged.

Further detail TBA.  If you have any questions, contact Marcon Programming

Meet the characters/suspects:

Beau Glancer (who loves all animals, but especially sheep)
Description: Beau has always been a fervent vegetarian and is quick to criticize those who do not share her beliefs. She often saw Jack while she watched her sheep as he headed off to climb another hill.

Cindy Ellis (the tidy one)
Description: Cindy has always said that she is quite content to stay home and clean. However, Cindy has dreams of meeting her "Prince Charming" and setting off with him to see the world. Meanwhile, she loves spending her spare time with her friends but everyone knows that she must be home before midnight.

Jill Waters (Jack's girlfriend)
Description: Jack's girlfriend for as long as anyone can remember, Jill has always seemed to be very supportive of all of Jack's plans. She is worried that Jack has begun to take her for granted, and that his attention could be focused elsewhere.

John Horner (the pie-lover)
Description: John is a man of few words but he harbors many dreams. Although he seems happy enough to eat Scarlett's baking, John does not intend to be known as a pie-eater all his life.

Scarlett Hood (the baker of goodies)
Description: Scarlett is known for always wearing her favorite red hat and for always baking goodies which she carries in a large picnic basket. She seems to get along with everyone except Thomas Wolfe.

Thomas Wolfe (the mysterious one)
Description: Thomas is known as being clever and stealthy. Ever since he became part of this group, Thomas has watched and waited. He is used to getting what he wants, but the first time he didn't was when he competed against Jack for the leadership of this "Once Upon A Time" group, but lost the election by one vote.

Miss Muffy Moffet (the spider-hater)
Description: Muffy is never happier than when she is sitting on her special stool eating her cottage cheese. She is terrified of all bugs and therefore finds Ryan's obsession with spiders grotesque.

Ryan Arachnid (insect specialist)
Description: Ryan has always been fascinated with insects...especially spiders. He loves to tease Muffy, but has a secret crush on someone else. His hunts for spiders have put him in strange places at strange hours.

Two additional understudy slots are provided for.  These two individuals will cover slots of anyone who cancels.  They will not play a character unless someone defaults, but will get the exclusive lunch regardless.

Remember, participants do not pay the $10.00 fee when submitting sign-up info.  Once said info is processed, you will be contacted with all the info you need to know, including payment options.

Since many of the Characters are written to be sex-specific, we ask you to indicate what sex of character you are comfortable playing. Using your preference, we will endeavor to organize the character assignment in such a way that no one will be placed in such a situation.  PLEASE NOTE:  The two ‘understudies’ could end up playing anybody.

Please type male, female, or any term such as ‘cross’, ‘trans’, or both if you are comfortable playing either sex, in the box below.  First assignment of character still goes to the first person to sign up, regardless of what sex-preference you choose, so don’t feel pressured to put ‘both’ just to get a part.

Only our web-master, one programming staff, and the programming depart head(s) will be accessing your submitted information for this event.  Your information will not be sold, traded, or otherwise disseminated beyond this event.
